Indie rockers Two Door Cinema Club hauled their shiz across the pond to lay down four excellent re-worked versions of their songs in the Daytrotter studio. Grey drizzly weather may hold court much of the time in Ireland (home for these boys), but any such dreariness has no effect on the music. These songs have a relentless optimism about them that squashes a fickle beast like weather and squares up with the big fish that life requires us to fry. As a witty (and somewhat morbid) listener over at Daytrotter noted, “If this [session] doesn’t put a smile on your face then I suspect you are already dead.” Well said.
