Wale Khalifa

Wale has been doing a bunch of freestyles and doing his own versions of songs over recently released songs for the last couple of months and just came out with his version of Wiz Khalifa’s, Black and Yellow, called “Mike Tomlin.” Now aside from sticking to the Black and Yellow theme (Mike Tomlin is the head coach of the Steelers), Wale also keeps the beat which I absolutely love. Now I’ve always really liked  Wale and have been recently feeling Wiz so this was exactly what I was looking for. The song is a studio freestyle, with Wale going the whole length of the song without taking a break. On top of it, the song focuses more on Wale’s verses, which are pretty awesome in this one, and has the sound at a lower volume, almost in the backround. Wale does a good job despite choosing not to use the chours, which was one of my favorite parts of the song. Honestly, I like both Artist’s versions for different reasons, with Wiz’s having a more radio ready and catchy feel, while Wale’s just leaves you in awe of his lyricism. See what you think, and enjoy!
