Haas and I were talking the other day and he alerted me to Bei Maejor who’s graduated from U of M a couple of years ago and is a pretty big deal, signing with Compound Entertainment (working w/ Ne-Yo). Here’s his mixtape which is reallllly good. A lot of the music we post on here sounds a little underfinished because the artists are just coming up and haven’t had the opportunities to work with big time producers (which is good in some cases, cough cough mike posner). That’s not the case here, this mixtape has a mainstream hip hop feel, with really really good beats, occasionally sampling songs such as Don’t Stop Believing. Gonna be honest, if you weren’t that familiar with R&B artists you would listen and think this was an Usher/Ne-yo/ Jeremih mixtape. I’m sitting here and listening to it again and it’s even better the second time around. I don’t know what else to say about the mixtape other than it’s awesome, so thanks to Haas for pointing him out to me. Some of my favorite songs are Drinks on Me, Order What you Want, All Night, and Gamez but honestly the whole cd is great so listen to it all. Just an aside, Bei Maejor had already worked with artists such as Trey Songz, Chingy, and Plies BEFORE he graduated college so that may be where you’ve heard his name before. The kid has a lot of talent so download this EP and enjoy!
