A few weeks ago Drake released his highly anticipated mixtape, So Far Gone.  Rapping about how he “just wants to be successful” and asking “is anything I’m doing brand new?” in some very deep songs, really putting his emotions on his sleeve.  Based on this tape, along with his sophomore mixtape in 2007, Comeback Season, I can tell you that he will be successful and his style is very brand new.  He has collaborated a lot with Lil Wayne who has sort of taken him under his wing so you will be sure that he will blow up soon enough if you haven’t heard of him yet.  So Far Gone has three of my favorite songs including Uptown (feat. Bun B & Lil Wayne) which has a laid back beat and well sung hooks, Little Bit (feat. Lykke Li) that consists of one of the most unique beats I’ve heard that is just addicting to listen to and has some very well sung vocals by Lykke Li. Last is my favorite song which is included as a bonus track, Congratulations which is perfect from start to finish with well rapped verses and a flawless beat using a sample from Coldplay’s Viva La Vida.  Other features include Peter Bjorn & John, Lloyd, Santogold, Trey Songz in this very good mixtape so give it a listen and enjoy. I will also include Comeback Season for those who are just learning about Drake.
