So I have never really been a fan of Snoop Dogg and never gotten into much of his music but his new single titled ‘I Wanna Rock’ really caught my ear. The beat has a nice sample from the beginning of Rob Base and DJ E-Z Rock’s hit song “It Takes Two” and the verses are pretty smooth and easy to listen to. Defently not a song for everyone, but check it out and make your own choice. From his upcomming album, Mallice n Wonderland. Shouts to The Music Daily!

The very talented producer, RJD2 teamed up with Kenna for a song of his upcoming 2010 release, The Colossus. This song has a very chill, relaxing feel to it and really is very easy to listen to and enjoy. Get it, play it, and sit back and relax…. Shouts to TCO!
Mash-Up Monday

Another week, another mash-up and I think I got a real solid one for ya this week. A full mash-up album (well, 31 mins worth) comes out from a new DJ called Weekend Of Hedonism. The album, ‘The Adventures Of…’ is a very good album using such unique sample as The Beach Boys, Backstreet Boys, Du Hast, Jessies Mom and Mighty Mighty Bosstones and there is never a time that it sounds forced or awkward. Granted there are some times where it resembles Super Mash Bros. or Girl Talk, but whatever.. in the long run they all sound the same, which is my mind is real good.

Ya, so I was outta town eating turkey and doing family stuff, so no computer, hope you were doing the same! A few days ago a song from B.o.B/Bobby Ray’s Debuet album leaked called Nothing On You. Its got a nice smooth sound to it with Bruno Mars singing a real nice hook. Solid track, but then again, what else would you expect from B.o.B. ENJOY!

Well I assume all you students out there are on break now so its about time to have some fun. Last night has an epic turkey dinner with my college house-mates and ‘the itis’ struck too hard to go out so just watched a movie and this song was in the closing credits. From his album back in 2007 is K’naan’s song, In The Beginning. Has a very feel good sound to it with tribal drums and maracas throughout. I’m sure you this will get you feelingin a better mood so get out there and enjoy your break and get ready for the largest bar night of the year!
Elmwood

So heres a new band called Elmwood that I have recently gotten into. They are currently on tour with O.A.R. as thier opening act and have a sound that is a lot like a mix between Dave Matthews Band and O.A.R. In thier songs they feature a saxophone, nice percussion, and guitars that almost mimic the make up of DMB and O.A.R. (probably why they sound so much like them). Thier first album, Dreaming Little Things was released earlier this year and is a very solid album. Provided will be my favorite song, Little by Little which is a very nice song that will give you a good feel of this band. Also recieved this free live album that they put together from their current tour with O.A.R. which features 11 songs, 2 of which feature O.A.R. ENJOY!

Back from AZ so thought I would give you a song before I do hours of work to catch up…. Ugh… Another solid track from XV called Losing the Signal. A nice sample from Jupiter One which really brings this song together and make sit one of my favorite XV tracks to date. Off his upcoming (unreleased) mixtape ‘The Kid With The Green Backpack’

Mash-Up Monday

I know this has been floating around YouTube and the internet for awhile, but hey! needed a mash to post today, and its pretty good. A new dj (to me) called Hathbanger takes Miley Cyrus’ SMASH hit Party In The USA and puts over verses by The Notorious B.I.G.’s classic song, Party and Bullshit. Hope you enjoy this one!
Cueyfornication Bonus Tracks

Finally found links to the last two bonus tracks to OnCue’s RHCP mash-up/blend mixtape, Cueyfornication. I seriously think that these two are some of the best ones on the album. I really think you will enjoy these. Made of Gold samples “Snow (Hey Oh)” and When I’m Sober uses “The Otherside”… both are produced very well. As a nice bonus I’ll throw in one of his latest tracks to be hopfully featured on his next mixtape, In A Class All By Myself. This is a very chill song that samples Coldplay’s Trouble titled Gotta Move.
Bonus: Gotta Move
Donkeyboy

From Norway comes a very good indie band called Donkeyboy. They have a very chill sound that sounds like a mix of the Silversun Pickups, Empire of the Sun, and Phoenix. The first song, Ambitions is pretty chill and you will hear thier Silversun Pickup’s sound whereas the second song, Sometimes is a little more upbeat and this reminds me of Phoenix. Both are from their freshman album titled Caught In A Life. Shouts to Kickin’ the Peanuts!
